Royal Islamic Mosque [Sultanate of Brunei]

Royal Islamic Mosque[Sultanate of Brunei]
Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is a royal Islamic mosque situated in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of the Sultanate of Brunei. This magnificent mosque in Asia Pacific has become one of the greatest tourist attractions. Named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, the mosque, which is seen as a symbol of the Islamic faith in Brunei, dominates the skyline in the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan. The architecture of the mosque, designed by an Italian architect on an artificial lagoon near the banks of the Brunei River, has a great influence of both Islamic and Italic styles. The mosque with pure golden domes has beautiful floral gardens with fountains around. The main minaret stands at 52m (171ft) high and by reaching the top of it one can have a glimpse at the city. This building with modern Islamic architecture was completed in 1958. The prayer hall in the mosque was designed with remarkable arches, semi-domes, marble columns and marvelous mosaic stained glass. The granite from Shanghai, marble from Italy, carpets from Saudi Arabia and the crystal chandeliers from England were used to design this artistic building.
For the tourists, it's highly recommended to visit the place during day as well as night.
